2017 Buick Encore is running with the conventional 1.4-liter turbocharged unit with four cylinders. This unit comes with 138 hp along with 143 lbs.-ft. of torque for lower trims. Higher trims come with more power and torque with 153 hp and 177 lbs.-ft. respectively thanks to features like direct injection and other upgrades which have been added to the engine. Higher trims also feature a start/stop button for the engine. The engine is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission, with either FWD or AWD.
