Cadillac CTS Sedan, Coupe, Price

With sport versions of sedans being a rage in the current market in the US and also Europe, company has decided to come up with a new version 2018 Cadillac CTS.

This mid-sized car, initially introduced in 2003, was available as a regular sedan on the Sigma Platform; which basically means that it was driven on rear wheels. In 2007, the second generation of the CTS was launched with a more powerful engine and on a longer and wider platform.

Predominantly a 4 door car, a coupe version was launched a year later. Also, a sport wagon with an all-wheel drive platform too was released. Finally, a third generation was brought out in 2014, which featured a turbocharged V6, which has been retouched from time to time, with its last serious remodeling taking place in 2016.

Now, the Cadillac CTS 2018 is set to be an amalgamation of all the best versions, a luxury sport sedan, competing with the likes of BMW M5 and Audi RS6.

2018 Cadillac CTS – Under the Hood

Rumours are, the makers of this vehicle will offer quite a few options in terms of engine and subsequently power. The base model may house a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder unit which produces 270 hp. Higher up the range, the more powerful models are set to come with a V6 engine, which is capable of two different power outputs – one a 311 hp engine and another a 425 hp engine.

This makes sure that the vehicle gets more fuel efficient than the last generation. Sources say mileage will vary from 17 to 22 mpg inside the city, while smoother drives on the freeway may take that up to more than 30 mpg. The gearbox will be unlike its previous versions, a 6 speed automatic.

The Cadillac CTS 2018 is a sports sedan, which means it is a perfect blend of luxurious elegance as well as powerful adventure. Aluminum and carbon fiber has been used judiciously to cut down on the weight, yet retaining the bulky look that a sport sedan should have. The vertical taillights give the vehicle a classy look, while the grille too is not very typical.

New brakes from Italian manufacturers Brembo makes it an, even more, better option, while tires have been brought in from French company Michelin.

Word is, proper sports car seats from Recaro have been incorporated into the 2018 Cadillac CTS, while the air conditioning has been improved a lot from its current model. The audio system features a remarkable Bose 5.1, while other amenities include a command switches on the armrest. Even an emergency exit is available inside the car, along with motion sensors for reverse.

2018 Cadillac CTS – Expected Arrival and Price

Although no official release date details are out, expect this new 2018 Cadillac CTS to release in the middle of this year, i.e., 2017. Probably, it will be out by its third quarter and available for buying.

The base model will probably be priced at around $46,990, while higher range versions of this vehicle will go as far as $55,000.
