2018 Kia Sportage – Interior and Exterior Design

Unfortunately, the spy shots were unable to capture the interior of the 2018 Kia Sportage. However, there are elements that are expected to appear in the interior of the car. These elements include a fully-equipped dashboard and designed interior. Other elements for the interior are the upgraded touchscreen infotainment system.

This is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Safety features, including automated emergency braking, are also featured. Kia also provides the third production of its own UVO device, complete with Harman/Kardon 320-watt stereo system which features eight speakers and eight gigabytes of storage. There is still much speculation as to the specifics of the interior of the model. All the public can do at present is wait for further information either from more spy shots or from the brand itself.

While not ample, there have been changes that have been made to the exterior design of the car. At the front, we see more prominent fog lights, wraparound head lights, and their signature tiger nose grille. The overall feeling is muscular, as evidenced by its proportions continuing over the model. The styling leans towards the “quirky” side, as the look is fairly unconventional. The European influence shows through, especially in the headlights. However, this same influence makes the Korean brand’s model look like one of many European crossovers.

The fog lights, in particular, have a unique design reminiscent of an ice cube tray, with four LED bulbs per housing. Many have not shown favor with regard to the front design of the exterior. However, Kia is expected to make the 2018 Kia Sportage the most attractive model in all its lines to date. Further development and its eventual release will prove whether or not that will be the case, so as with the interior, the public must wait.

2018 Kia Sportage – Engine Performance

Under the hood, the Kia Sportage 2018 is expected to have a four-cylinder engine and comes with the standard front-wheel drive. The 2018 Sportage is expected not to be as fuel-efficient as its rivals. The model runs on regular-grade 87-octane gasoline. The LX and EX models have a 2.4-liter with 181 hp as well as 175 pound-feet of torque.

The SX Turbo is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four petrol engine at 240 hp (though 237 with AWD) and 260 pound-feet of torque. The larger units will come with a six-speed automatic transmission, as will the smaller units. However, the smaller units have the option of a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox.

2018 Kia Sportage – Price and Release Date

Prices for the 2018 model would be expected at around $24,500 for the LX, $27,000 for the EX, and $34,000 for the SX Turbo. Any Sportage should come with all-wheel drive as an option at around $1,500. The date of release for this model is expected to be sometime in the third quarter of 2017. The wait of a few more months will decide whether or not the 2018 Kia Sportage will be up to public expectations.
