2018 Toyota Corolla front

What’s new with this Corolla?

It looks better, much better. Sharper lines, stronger body accents to reflect the new-gen pre-requisite of being smart and looking smarter. This new model will be longer and wider. Not boxer, though, shaped and modeled with a high-class streamlined look.

Most of the stylistic enhancements of the previous 2012 model were taken from the Prius. This 2018 Toyota Corolla will be doing the same albeit minor adjustments to the front and rear fascia and enhanced headlights and taillights. A broader chrome bar with a Toyota logo is expected.

The grille will be wider and more aggressive to attenuate a lack of aggression in previous generations. On a whole, this car does look nicer and more modern than its previous versions. A good-looking Corolla is a sight for sore eyes.

Inside a 2018 Toyota Corolla:

Utility and economy are the two attributes that will be the highlights of this new model. However, the Japs will be upgrading model tech and quality keeping in mind that, customers will expect a car to have techs which have become mandatory for a four-wheeler sedan.

This car will be built on the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) modular platform, the same which the Prius and all upcoming Toyota models will incorporate. The car has enlarged dimensions so backseat comfort will increase.

The dashboard will have a 6.1” touchscreen and upgraded infotainment controls. Higher trims will sport best-in-class infotainment sets, Toyota wishes to spoil the customer with entertainment instead of luxury which will be impossible to provide given the price-range of the models.

2018 Toyota Corolla – Under the Hood

This car will be powered by an all new unit; a major upgrade over the previous generation.

  • Engine Type- 1.8-liter Inline 4
  • Output- 132 hp+128 lb-ft
  • Sprint-5 Seconds [0 to 60 mph]
  • EPA (Mileage)- 28/32/37 [City/Combined/Highway]

This car is supposed to excel in an economy. But although the engine size appears below-par, the performance is not. Acceleration is more than good given a corolla standards and city driving will be fun with it’s nifty and responsive performance specs.

The car will come with a 6 Speed transmission system. It will be CVT, i.e., a Continuously Variable Transmission adding to the performance and the economy on highways. The TNGA platform provides for better driveability by allowing an independent rear suspension system and also a reduction in curb weight. This 2018 Toyota Corolla will definitely be a better top drive, something which might fuel it to top sales figures just like it had in previous decades.

The car looks better from outside, feels nicer from inside and performs better than before. Toyota might just have framed the winning formula again to propel this 50-year-old nameplate to the forefront of automobile sales.

This 2018 Toyota Corolla looks set to merge quality with quantity!
